Brian Foley is a Michigan State University journalism graduate student. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and received his bachelor's of arts in history and environmental studies at UC Santa Barbara. His undergraduate thesis investigated the environmental demise of the Owens Valley after the building of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. His byline has appeared in the San Mateo (Calif.) Times, Oakland Tribune and San Francisco Chronicle.
