| The Environmental Journalism Program offers Outreach Programs for professional environmental journalists. In June 1996 the program launched its first Great Lakes Environmental Journalism Training Institute and its second in May 1997. The third annaul institute will be held in June 1998.Twenty-five journalists from the United States and Canada annually win fellowships to learn about Great Lakes environmental issues during the 3 1/2-day institute. The program has also organized workshops and lectures on a variety of newsworthy environmental topics. |
