HAUNTED FOREST IN OCTOBER AT FENNER NATURE CENTER
Lansing Parks and Recreation would like to invite you to be a part of their 1st Annual Haunted Forest. The Haunted Forest will be a1/4 mile trail through the woods of Fenner Nature Center. Incorporated throughout the trail will be 6-8 stations filled with volunteer 'critters'.

The Haunted Forest is set to haunt Lansing the last weekend in October, Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27.

OCTOBER WEEKLY SESSIONS ON SUSTAINABILITY AT MSU
 Weekly sessions "Food for Thought: The Land Grant University and Sustainability" are open to everyone. Sponsored by the University Committee for a Sustainable Campus and the Office of Campus Sustainability at Michigan State University, these lunch time presentations and discussions will be held every Tuesday at the International Center, Spartan C room. We will congregate at 11:30 with the presentations scheduled to begin precisely at 12:00. Each week the presenter will speak for 15-20 minutes with the intent to engage conversation around important issues of sustainability. We encourage all members of our community to join us. You can purchase your lunch at the International Food Court or bring a lunch from home. Room rental prohibits food purchased from other non-International Food Court vendors.

GUTIERREZ TO SPEAK OCT. 25
Felix Gutierrez, senior vice president for the Newseum, will deliver the Siebert Lecture on Oct. 25 from 4-5 in the MSU Union Gold Rooms. His lecture is titled "One Freedom, Many Voices."

MSU ENVIRONMENTAL CLUBS ANNOUNCE MEETING SCHEDULES
Eco student environmental organization meets weekly on Wednesdays, at 7:45 p.m. in the Illinois room of the Union.

CHAPTER OF NATIONAL LANDSCAPING ORGANIZATION NOW FORMING
 Wild Ones Natural Landscapers is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to promoting interest in landscaping with native plants, using environmentally sound practices. The local Greater Lansing (Red Cedar) chapter of Wild Ones is now forming. Anyone with an amateur or professional interest in native plants, native gardening, or preserving the natural landscape is welcome to attend.

Meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of every month, from 7pm to 9pm. The firstmeeting will be held at Harris Nature Center, 3998 VanAtta Rd, Okemos MI 48864. (517)349-3866. Harris Center is about 1 mile south of Grand River Ave, just north of the Red Cedar River bridge.

The Red Cedar Chapter is welcoming members from Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Livingston, and Shiawassee counties, plus any others interested in attending. The chapter intends to learn from and educate its members, promote native landscaping within the area, work with other environmental and governmental organizations, and become a forum for sharing our common interests.

Programs will vary throughout the year to take advantage of the seasons, including guest speakers, field trips, and perhaps some hands-on involvement. Members' suggestions are encouraged.
